Sahib Singh Sokhey
Sahib Singh Sokhey BSc MA MD FAS FNI was an Indian medical scientist,〔 who was also a nominated member of Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of Indian Parliament, from April 3, 1952 to April 2, 1956.〔 A nominated member is one who is nominated by the President of India from amongst persons who have special knowledge or practical experience in fields like literature, science, art and social service. Dr Sahib Singh Sokhey was born on December 15, 1887 to Sardar Jwala Singh Sokhey. He served as the Assistant Director General in the World Health Organization during 1950-1952. He was married to Leila Roy.
He was awarded the Stalin Peace Prize in 1953. He died on November 15, 1971.
